Social Change Project: The VioLens

Violence Against Women includes violence in the family, community, and state violence. By creating a space that can provide awareness to people regarding what and how prevalent violence against women is, we can break the silence and end the violence. Moreover, since one of the root causes of gender-based violence is the societal norms and traditions introduced to people, we will be able to end this unequal power relation by creating a space that can educate people, especially men, that women can also be leaders, pursuers, and providers. By doing this, we can eliminate the perception that men have more dominant roles than women in society, thus, empowering women. Aside from this, such a website can contribute to creating a common ground or forum and encourage a mindset where women can speak up regarding violence

We must break silence. We must end violence. We must educate men. We must empower women.
